Challenge:

Minneapolis area roofing contractor Trinity Exteriors faced several challenges with this Brooklyn Park project. First and foremost, we had to replace the hail damaged roof, but we also had to make several improvements to bring the home up to local building codes. Since this was a rental property, we had the added challenge of working with and coordinating between the property manager, owner, tenants and the insurance company.

Solution:

Our first priority was to effectively communicate and work with the parties involved in this roofing restoration. We worked with the property manager and tenants to schedule the best time for the project, which had to be done quickly to minimize the impact on the tenants’ daily activities. Once the schedule was decided, our crews came on the scene to tear off the hail-damaged shingles. We installed Owens Corning Weatherlock Ice & Water barrier, which is required on the decking 24″ in from the exterior wall line. The barrier provides additional protection for the roof for driving rain and wind. We also cut in two new vents in the detached garage, which will help the structure’s ventilation and prevent mold and other moisture-related problems.

Finally, we installed the Owens Corning Oakridge shingles in the owner’s color choice of Brownwood, then put on the new 5″ seamless aluminium gutters in White.

Project Summary:
