Meet the Team of Trinity Exteriors

The options for new windows can certainly feel overwhelming, between materials, colors and styles, there are thousands of choices. However, if your main reason to invest in new windows is energy efficiency and ensuring your windows will last for a couple of decades, you should consider upgrading to triple pane.
Energy Efficient Windows
Since one of the major benefits of triple pane glass is energy efficiency, let’s take a look at efficiency is measured in windows. The most energy efficient windows on the market are certified Energy Star partners. To partner with this organization, windows must meet strict U-Values. U-Value measures how effective a material insulates heat. For the Twin Cities climate, the minimum U-Value to be an Energy Star partner is .30. Trinity’s double pane windows already exceed this measurement with a .27 U-Value. Upgrading to triple pane brings that U-value down to .22, one of the most energy-efficient windows on the market.
What is Triple Pane?
Triple Pane refers to the amount of glass within the window. Due to winter temperatures, most contractors don’t sell single pane windows. Double pane is the minimum standard in keeping houses warm during the winter. They consist of two sections of glass separated by one air spacer. Triple pane, then, is three glass sections separated by two air spacers.
What are the Benefits of Triple Pane?
In addition to the energy efficiency mentioned above, triple pane windows can reduce energy spending by hundreds of dollars every month, depending on the efficiency of the rest of your home. These windows reduce outside noise, and are extremely durable. Finally, since they are heavier and more durable, triple pane glass windows.
