Meet the Team of Trinity Exteriors

Did you know there was a difference? Bow windows and bay windows create individual looks that depend on the style preference of the homeowner, as well as the reason the homeowner wants these large windows. Do they need more light in the room? Is it just for looks? Should the windows be vented?

Bow Windows are a combination of 3, 4 or 5 windows that combine to arch out from the wall of the house. Because of the increased number of windows, bows tend to let more light into a room. Bow windows can also wrap around the corner of a house, forming a nook on the inside and turret shape on the outside.

Bay Windows are formed by three windows projecting out from the wall of the home. The windows are usually angled at 30- to 45-degree angles. The overall structure is typically a picture window in the center, with two smaller windows on either side. They protrude out from the house wall farther than bow windows, so they tent to fit the design aesthetics of modern homes best. The side windows of a bay are typically venting windows, whereas bow windows are solid glass.
