Rochester Home Needs Roof and Skylight Replacement

Challenge:

These homeowners were concerned about the roof on his home, his garage, and his gazebo after 2 big storms brought golf ball size hail to the neighbourhood. Not wanting to get a replacement from a “storm chaser” company, they asked around to their friends for any recommendations on a reputable contractor. Once they heard of Trinity, they gave us a call to schedule their free inspection.

Solution:

Upon our inspection, we found many areas where the hail had dislodged the granules on the shingles. The homeowners decided to file an insurance claim, and we made sure to work with the adjuster and insurance company to ensure the homeowner gets what they need. Once the construction day arrived, we started by covering all of the landscaping surrounding the home as well as the deck on the back of the house in order to prevent any damage from the debris. After his was done, we tore off the old, damaged shingles. We inspected the decking to ensure it was up to code and that there were no “mushy” spots that could cause future issues with leaks. After laying down Synthetic Underlayment, we put down a layer of Ice & Water Shield and also adding an additional layer over the front entryway for extra protection. This helps ensure that there are no leaks and protects against driving rain and high winds. The skylight on the home had also sustained damage, and so we were able to install a Velux FS skylight and ensured all the caulking and installation was up to code. Our final step was to Premium Owens Corning Duration Designer Shingles in the color “Pacific Wave”.
