Challenge:

Not only had this Stillwater, MN house suffered severe storm damage after a hail storm hit Eastern Minnesota, but the house’s ventilation system was suffering, and its affects were evident in high energy bills.

Solution:

As one of the most trusted local roofing and siding contractors in Minnesota, Trinity Exteriors was able to handle the challenges of this Stillwater home easily. After the storm, the homeowners contacted us based on our rave online reviews. The inspection showed that the roof and the siding were hit hard by hail stones, and would need to be replaced. We tore off the old asphalt shingles and replaced them with new Tamko Heritage 30 shingles in Painted Desert. While replacing the roof, we saw significant damage to the vents, which were unable to perform and properly vent the attic. We removed the old turbine vents and replaced them with 750-style vents.

Once we had properly updated the roof, we moved on to removing and replacing the damaged vunyl siding. After the tear-off, we put on a layer of Tyvek House wrap, which prevents water and cold/hot air from penetrating, but allows water vapor to escape to help balance the energy efficiency of the home. The homeowners opted to stay with vinyl siding, and we installed Mastic Structure 7″ Clapboard in Wicker.

Project Summary:
