Burnsville Home Sees Large Buildup of Ice Dams

Challenge:

The board of this townhome noticed a significant amount of ice dams building up on many of their buildings, and they were concerned that there could be damage to the shingles, and more importantly, need costly repairs.

Solution:

Having done work with Trinity Exteriors in the past, the called us for the ice dam mitigation and snow removal. This was a massive project, as there were 49 different buildings, but Trinity was up to the challenge. We began by chiselling down the large amount of ice dams that had formed, and we made sure to remove any debris from the nearby walkways and entrances to the homes. After all this was completed, our crew got up on the roofs and shovelled all the snow off, again ensuring that we removed the large amount of snow from the walkways and being careful not to damage surrounding landscaping. Once this was complete, we noticed that there were indeed some shingles in need of replacing. Due to the cold weather, we had to wait until spring to complete that work. However, had the townhome association not recognized the importance of snow removal, there might have been more costly repairs than just a small amount of shingle replacements.
